1. Technical.

(a) GATE.

15 percent. That’s it. Out of 1.5 lakhs graduates appearing every year in each discipline only 15 percent of graduates qualify GATE exam.

Trust me with personal experience if you score +60 marks to 80 marks in GATE Exam which requires average 6 months preparation you would be landing in a job paying +1,00,000 INR per month.

Courses: Join an Offline or Online Coaching for GATE. Dont forget to talk to an already registered student in the course before taking the course.

Scope: For M.Tech & PhD in IISC, IIT & NITs, it is mandatory for aspirant to have a valid GATE score. A good score will help you land a +15,00,000 INR job in many PSU’s. GATE score is valid for 3 years.

(b) U.P.S.C. Engineering Services.

UPSC.

Engineering Services are GEM for core branches i.e. Civil, Mechanical, Electrical & Electronics and telecommunication. If you are hard core interested in technical and wish to serve as top ranking officials for Government, this is for you.

A Class A post, ranking same an IAS or IPS officer are offered to graduates who clear Engineering service exam conducted by UPSC. State PSC also conduct engg services exam which may differ from state to state.

Scope: Some of the departments you would be working in are as follows.

Courses: For Engg Services I would suggest to take courses from Experienced Institutes only as they have huge experience in the field than new institutes and have to cover some more syllabus in detail and more subjects too than the GATE syllabus.

(c) S.S.C. Junior Engineer.

Staff Selection Commission (S.S.C) is an autonomous body which take care of recruitment or Govt. Of India. For all the Class B post, Class C posts under Central Govt are filled by exams conducted by SSC.

For candidates preparing for U.P.S.C exams, S.S.C Junior Engineer exams is also a target. An exam conducted annually is conducted to fill vacancies on pan India Basis.

Course : GATE or Engg Services Course wont help you clear this exam as the question pattern is totally different for SSC JE. Taking up online course by NEW INSTITUTES is preferable here as most questions are repetitive and based on previous years papers.

Salary : As a govt servant working in following departments your gross salary will be under 7th pay commission and around 45,000 to 55,0000.

(d) PSU’s

Not Every PSU recruit through GATE exam. Many prefer to conduct their own separate exam for candidates which is a big boost for many aspirant who dream of a job in reputed PSU or MAHARATNA or MINIRATNA status company.

Best part is you dont have to study as analytically as GATE exam but the cons is along with technical questions equal importance is given to these 4 new topics.

  • Quantitative Aptitude.
  • Logical Reasoning.
  • English and Comprehension.
  • General Awareness and Current Affairs.

Courses: Mostly questions of SSC JE level or Engineering Services level are asked in these exams so practising previous years papers is a big advantage.

Salary: After getting inducted in the company as Junior Engineer or Management Trainee the salary around 50,000 per month in hand. The salary totally depend on the firm and the location of your job.

(e) Private Institutes.

Improvise, Adapt, Evolve.

There are no less opportunity to the one seeking for. While a govt job saturates over time, a career in any private institutes is more like a wine, it gets richer with time.

Getting a job offer from On Campus Drive or Off campus Drive is a best way to enter Private Firms. You have to be market skilled to sustain and improve with technology.

Best way to establish yourself here is to start with LinkedIn. This will open up new Connections, Job Opportunities and learn Courses relevant to your industry.

2. Non- Technical

(a) M.B.A.

Be an Entrepreneur.

If you have that Entrepreneur’s Mindset in you, M.B.A. is your calling. Many who wish to pursue an corporate lifestyle go specifically for M.B.A.

CAT, XAT, MAT, SNAP are some of the exams to top IIM’s and IBM’s . Once you are in these top institutes you play in a totally different league. Average packages start with 15-20 lakhs in here, leave aside the additional perks with it.

Courses: The following institutes are most preferred with aspirants to ensure their success rate.

(b) U.P.S.C.

UPSC BHAVAN.

Serve the Nation with U.P.S.C. While we move to be a global power we need more youth to support the cause. Many working abroad with a well settled job leave it to pursue U.P.S.C.

While you are aware of IAS & IPS, there are 23 other services to serve the nation as a CLASS A OFFICER.

The total services are :

(C) Staff Selection Commission. (SSC)

Staff Selection Commission (S.S.C) is an autonomous body which take care of recruitment or Govt. Of India. For all the Class B post, Class C posts under Central Govt are filled by exams conducted by SSC.

For non technical posts yearly exams are conducted by SSC which are published in yearly calendar.

  • SSC CHSL
  • SSC POST 8
  • SSC STENOGRAPHER GRADE C & D
  • SUB INSPECTOR IN DELHI POLICE & CAPF
  • JUNIOR HINDI TRANSLATOR
  • SSC CGL

The salary vary based on grade pay. For posts based on 12th basis, the Basic salary is around 30k to 40k per month while for graduate basis the basic salary is 50k to 60k per month

Course: Best way is to get on YouTube and look for a specific exam, if the faculty is taking premium courses somewhere you may join it.

(D) Bank Jobs

You will join any Bank either as a Clerk or as Probation Officer(PO). Prepare for bank jobs for two reasons :

  • If you are interested in Banking Sector.
  • If you want a job in 6 Months.

Complete process for every banking exams with joining is completed in around 6 months period from the date of notification.

Other than SBI Banks most other Public sector banks are under IBPS. IBPS is an autonomous body which take care of recruitment process for various Public Sector Banks (P.S.B.). The different bank exams which are conducted throughout the year are :

Salary: The Basic salary for clerks is around 30k per month and for PO it is around 40k-45k. The other perks in salary totally depend on the Bank you are working with.
