86,400. Each day we live have 86400 seconds. God has blessed every one of us with the same amount of time. Successful people manage their time more effectively while those who are yet to shine are mistaking somewhere to manage their time better.
Take a look around yourself, Successful People are better organized. They value their time more than other. Being organized is the first step you take towards success. And the first step to be organized is to maintain a journal.
To maintain a journal seems easy at first, but it is not as easy as it may look to you. It requires Discipline and Consistency. No procrastination and laziness. To be more detailed and think things thoroughly.
Let me take you through a step by step approach to maintain a journal and be more organized than you are right now.
1 Divide and Rule.
United Kingdom ruled more than +55 countries with this ideology. It’s a waste if we don’t use it as well. Divide your Journal in categories. Each one for purpose I state below.
- Section I – Daily TO DO LIST.
- Section II – Goals both long term and short term
- Section III – Why and Thoughts.
- Section IV – Mistakes.
My personal suggestion is to not make more than 4 categories
2 To Do List.
Making a TO DO LIST for the next day simplifies more than 60 percent of your day. Once you list down the list before you sleep, it gets store in your subconscious mind and chances are you are less likely to forget them.
Add tasks to the list based on priority level, this will help you to do the most important one first when you have the good energy at the start of day.
3 Gold over Bronze.
There is no limitations to distraction we may get carried away with if our goals are not set. It is very important to define your goals both long term and short term to remain focused.
As one may always choose Gold over Bronze, similarly do not get carried away with distractions. Once your goal is set, all of your efforts must be in the direction of your goal.
Journals serve as a gateway to a humans mind. Their basic function is to analyze ourselves which in turn make us more organized.
Asking questions to self is a way to review our actions and take better decision next time. Putting down your thoughts on paper will allow you to think more clearly. That’s why a section totally dedicated to self-analysis is important.
5 Fail and Learn.
Trust me no one jumps directly to success without failing first. Failure is first step to success. You may not be consistent at first of may find it difficult to maintain journal systematically. No worries, it’s a part of process, you will learn in the journey and get better with each passing day.
So fail more along the process and be disciplined and more consistent to note down your thoughts in your journal.
Way Forward: It won’t be an easy journey for you if you are starting new, but trust me as you learn in the process you enjoy the journey more and get more organized than yesterday.
